Divorce is extremely common across the county, especially in Colorado. Over my lifetime, I have witnessed divorce become more normal. Divorce was extremely taboo, then became normalized once people came to the realization that sometimes it is better just to walk away.
My parents divorced when I was a kid. This may sound insensitive to the tradition of marriage, but boy, I am so glad they separated. They just were not meant to be together. I deeply respect couples that can resolve their issues and make their marriage work.
