West Sacramento fire truck drives over 2 people in brush fire response

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A death investigation launched Friday after a fire truck drove over two people during response to a brush fire Friday morning in West Sacramento.

At 11 a.m., crews were called to reports of fire burning along the railroad tracks on the Jefferson Boulevard, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

Crews arrived to the fire in a fire truck and a wildland engine, also known as a brush rig. Police said a firefighter “spotter” was guiding the brush rig through a debris-strewn area.
