Knights travel to former ECAC rival for first road game

Clarkson will hit the road for the first time this season for a road trip that was once part of the yearly ECAC trek for the Knights. Clarkson will face off at the University of Vermont tonight at 7:35. UVM comes into the game 0-1-1 after a trip out to St. Paul, to face St. Thomas. Clarkson enters the weekend 2-2. Clarkson is 59-29-2 all time vs the Cats, with their most recent game a 3-2 ot win last year at Cheel.

The Knights have split two home weekends, last weekend topping Niagara 4-2 and then dropping a decision to Notre Dame 5-2. The Knights held a 2-1 lead over the Irish going into the 3rd, but a strong 3rd from the Irish and an empty net goal sealed the win for Notre Dame. The Bitcoin ECAC Rookie of the Week, Jared Mangan, has stepped right in as a rookie with 2 goals on the campaign.

Clarkson is generating chances, out-shooting their opponents in all 4 games this season, averaging 30.25 shots per game. On special teams, the Knights are 3 for 13 on the power play and have killed off 11 of 14 chances against. In the face off circle, the Knights show the loss of Mathieu Gosslin as they sit a .462% on the draws…
