PARKLAND, FL- The Loxahatchee Road construction project has been underway for a year, and one of the major questions local residents have is about the opening of the stretch of road on Lox between University Drive and Parkside Drive. The section of Loxahatchee Road between University and Parkside is the key to getting from west Parkland to east Parkland, and ultimately State Road 7 on Parkland’s eastern boundary.
A spokesperson for the Loxahatchee Road project gave an update on Friday, October 18, 2024, stating “t he project team is actively working with the contractor to confirm a more precise reopening date. Currently, the reopening is slated for the end of Fall 2024. We will continue to monitor progress closely and provide you with updates as soon as more accurate information becomes available.”
The most recent update prior to this one from FDOT stated the University to Parkside stretch was aiming to open in the Fall of 2024. This week’s update now states “late Fall,” which means the opening could end up being as late as December…
