Syracuse Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Federal Drug & Gun Crimes

SYRACUSE, NY.- On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Anthony Beverly, 34, of Syracuse, New York, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Brenda K. Sannes to 84 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty pleas.

According to U.S. Attorney Carla B. Freedman, Beverly appeared in U.S. District Court and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance; and Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition by a Prohibited Person.

Beverly Admits To Crimes During Plea Hearing

During his plea hearing, Beverly admitted that on October 26, 2023, while in the Northern District of New York, he knowingly possessed in his Onondaga County apartment three handguns, extended ammunition magazines, and just around 615 rounds of multiple caliber ammunition. Beverly further admitted in court that when he possessed the firearms and ammunition, he knew that he had been previously convicted of a felony…
