Oklahoma mom tragically swept out to sea by large wave in Hawaii, reports say

Two people lost their lives, including a woman from Oklahoma, after being swept into the ocean while visiting a beach in Hawaii, according to recent reports.

Susie Jett, 72, her daughter, Laura Rich, 41, and a 63-year-old man from California were caught by a large wave while at Ke Iki Beach on Monday, Oct. 14, according to a Hawaii local news channel.

“There were on shore, either taking photos of the surf or watching the surf when a large set came up,” Honolulu EMS and Ocean Safety spokesperson Shayne Enright told the media outlet. “They weren’t planning on going swimming, they did not have swimsuits on, but they were caught off guard, and the surf was rising,”…
