Charlie Prime Foods Temporarily Closed Due to Equipment Issue

Charley Prime Foods at 9811 Washington Blvd in Gaithersburg’s Rio has announced it will be closed through Monday due to an equipment issue in its kitchen.

The restaurant posted the following message on social media: “Oh no! One of our main kitchen systems is down and will take a few days to repair. Either a freak accident or manufacturer defect, we can’t yet tell. Suffice to say we’re heartbroken!!! We will be closed through Monday at present, and are so sorry for the inconvenience. Please forgive us, this is completely out of our control.”

Charley Prime, owned by Jackie Greenbaum and Gordon Banks (also behind Little Coco’s, El Chucho, and Quarry House Tavern), opened in May 2023 in the space formerly occupied by Tara Thai. The restaurant boasts an extensive steak menu featuring options like filet mignon, New York strip, and a 36oz Tomahawk ribeye.
