SC emergency response team volunteer numbers increase following Helene’s impact

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – After a disaster response team’s effort in the Helene aftermath, their quarterly volunteer recruitment briefing attendance numbers went up.

Carolina Emergency Response Team held a Saturday briefing forum for those interested in joining their organization.

The group’s captain, Chad Walton, says during their last mission in North Carolina they had several people wanting to get involved…so even though this meeting was on the calendar for a while, he said they did expect a greater number than their average turnout…
