Oscar has formed today from the tropical wave we’ve been tracking north of the Caribbean islands. Oscar is currently a Category 1 hurricane and will remain a hurricane as it brushes the Cuban coastline through the next few days. A weakening trend is later anticipated as it turns back to the northeast, moves over the southern Bahamas, and journeys out into the Atlantic. Oscar will not pose a threat to the Gulf.
