Paladins Finish As Runner-Up At 54th Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Furman (-21) men’s golf team finished as runner-up Sunday at the 54th Annual Furman Intercollegiate at the par 71, 7,131-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

No. 27 Texas A&M (-23) set a new tournament record with a three-round total of 832, breaking the former standard of 832, which was set by Furman at last year’s tournament, and claiming a two-stroke victory over the Paladins. No. 34 Wake Forest (-19) finished third in the 15-team field.

Scotty Kennon (-11) of Wake Forest won the individual championship with a 54-hole score of 68-68-66=202, taking the win by three strokes and also establishing a new tournament record. He broke the former record of 203, which was set by Jack Kay in 1986…
