VDOT testing lowered speed table in Millwood

BERRYVILLE — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is testing whether a lowered speed table will continue to curb speeding in Millwood.

The table on Millwood Road (Route 723), near Shiloh Baptist Church, is one of four recently installed along that highway and Bishop Meade Road (Route 255) to get drivers to slow down.

Residents petitioned to have the devices installed, with support from the Clarke County Board of Supervisors. But the supervisors have since complained the tables are too large and have damaged the undercarriages of vehicles passing over them…
