SUMMARY: Mississippi Power is concluding its annual “Renew Our Rivers” initiative, with employees recently cleaning up the Wolf and Jordan rivers in Hancock County and the Pascagoula River near Moss Point . Environmental Affairs Director Michael Harvey highlighted the program’s role in promoting environmental stewardship while benefiting the community. This marks the 19th year of the initiative, during which over 425 tons of trash and debris have been collected across the service area. In this year’s efforts, volunteers removed unusual items, including a fridge, a deep freezer, and a small boat. Mississippi Power plans to expand the program in the coming years.
