A Houston man accused of strangling his pregnant wife and then lying to emergency responders about her cause of death is out on a $1 million bond just one week after the incident.
Lee Mongerson Gilley, 38, called 911 on Monday, Oct. 7. He claimed that his wife, Christa Gilley, 38, had committed suicide by drug overdose. However, hospital staff identified inconsistencies in Lee’s claims, and an autopsy later revealed Christa was likely strangled. Lee was charged with capital murder shortly after.
