Red River Valley Water Supply Project seeking participants with 14 miles of pipeline installed so far

GRAND FORKS — A drought resiliency project and economic development initiative is slowly working its way from the Missouri River to the Red River, and communities through central and eastern North Dakota are being approached to participate in the project.

Shawn Gaddie, project consultant from AE2S, a civil and environmental engineering consulting firm, said conversations with differing communities so far have been wide-ranging in what benefits communities can get from the project and how much they know about it.

“I’ll call it an eight-month road show,” he said. “Going all around central, southeastern, eastern and northeastern North Dakota — basically the entire project service area — and talking to all of the potential water systems, cities, counties that could potentially benefit from the project…
