UND Receives $1.5 Million Grant To Lead National Program

(Grand Forks, ND) — University of North Dakota is receiving a grant to lead a national prenatal substance use prevention training program. The one-point-five-million-dollar grant is being awarded to the university’s College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines and College of Education and Human Development. The grant comes from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. According to a university news release, UND will “lead a national effort” to train staff on best practices in addressing substance use prevention and providing referrals for WIC participants.
