KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo area servers and bartenders are calling on the state legislature to “Save their Tips”

Monday, workers gathered at Western Michigan University, calling on lawmakers to reverse the Michigan Supreme Court’s decision to raise the minimum wage to a flat rate of $12 an hour and phase out tips.

“Nobody is asking for this, nobody in the industry is asking for things to change,” Nicholas Clemann, a server at Martells, said. “I would probably have to find a new job, I would have to leave the industry.”
