At 8 am on October 21, authorities were called to a home on Lou Place and Oak Leaf Way in Granite Bay, for a report of suspicious circumstances. Placer Sheriff’s officials closed off the vicinity during their investigation, in the area of Oak Leaf Way from MacDuff Drive to just south of Lou Place. Residents were asked to avoid the area and to shelter in place.
Investigators were lead to believe that a man, in his mid 30’s, was inside the home. After trying to make contact with the man with no success, the Placer County Sheriff’s Department’s special enforcement team was called out along with crisis negotiators.
Shortly before noon, a man surrendered to authorities and was detained. Sheriff’s Deputies then entered the house where they found the dead bodies of a man and woman…
