The Dodgers are supremely talented, but not infallible

After the Yankees’ win on Saturday, we only needed one more to day to find out who their opponent in the World Series would be. Riding a quick start at the plate, the Dodgers downed the Mets 10-5 in Game 6 of the NLCS to finish off that series. While that series went down to the second to last game, it was quite an odd matchup as most of the individual games weren’t particularly close.

Some of the reasons that’s been the case in the games the Mets won make a compelling argument for why the Dodgers, despite having the league’s best record and possible homefield advantage in the World Series, an intriguing matchup for the Yankees, despite LA’s oodles of talent.

On paper, it’s hard to argue that the Dodgers have a better top end of the roster. Despite the Yankees having the likes of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Gerrit Cole, LA’s trio of former MVPs in Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman — even with Freeman hampered by injury — is pretty daunting, even before you get to some of the other players on their roster…
