Watervliet, NY (WRGB) — Watervliet Mayor Charles Patricelli has announced a plan working to fill a gap left by Equinox, not being able to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to residents again this year.
In response, the mayor is teaming up with Watervliet Police and the Fire Department, city businesses, volunteers,fraternal organizations and non-profit groups providing over 250-300 meals for those who traditionally relied on Equinox. Last year, Equinox ended it’s tradition of delivering thanksgiving meals to thousands across the Capital Region, leaving many in need. Mayor Patricelli also mentioned a plan to collaborate with Capital Regional Food Bank, though the details on their involvement are still being worked out.
