Historic Highlands home is restored, but Zoning Board strikes down owner’s future plans

FALL RIVER — The Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday struck down a plan by the developer of the historic house and dilapidated barn at 72 Belmont St. to subdivide the property into two lots and reconstruct the barn as three rental units.

Neighbors whose properties abut 72 Belmont expressed contempt during the meeting, reading from letters they’d written and airing concerns about parking, overcrowding and privacy.

“You’re killing us,” muttered Linn Graves of 645 High St., who claimed their fence was 6 feet from the barn slated to be rehabbed…
