PAWS Chicago Brings Hope to Canine Survivors of Hurricane Helene with Second Rescue Effort from Asheville to the City

PAWS Chicago has stepped up its rescue efforts following the destructive wake left by Hurricane Helene, bringing relief to the affected animal communities. The organization has successfully transported sixteen puppies from the flood-ravaged mountain regions around Asheville, North Carolina, back to Chicago, ensuring they receive necessary care and a chance for a better future. WGN-TV reports these puppies are currently being cared for at the PAWS Chicago Nan & Wayne Kocourek Medical Center located in Little Village.

Once medically cleared, which is a process ensuring their health and well-being, these young canines will be available for adoption at the organization’s Lincoln Park Adoption Center. According to a FOX 32 Chicago report, this recent mission marks the second transport effort by PAWS Chicago volunteers in response to Hurricane Helene’s impact.
