First Alert Forecast: warm, dry stretch of weather continues through late week

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Temperatures are on track to rise above normal this afternoon to the middle 80s. There is still a risk of wildfire danger considering humidity levels are low and with the lack of rainfall. Avoid outdoor burning if possible and heed local burn bans. Overnight, our weather will stay quiet and clear with low temperatures in the 50s.

A rinse-and-repeat weather pattern will follow Wednesday with another warm day on tap. High temperatures are forecast to peak in the middle 80s areawide under a mainly sunny sky.

Above-normal high temperatures are expected to prevail through the end of the week into the upcoming weekend. A weak front will likely pass through the region over the weekend, but won’t bring significant changes to our forecast. Temperatures may drop off by a few degrees with a stray shower chance ahead of the front. However, there are signals that another system could bring a better chance of much-needed rain near Halloween. More specifics on this are to come closer to time…
