LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities launched an investigation into the rough arrest of a man accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend at Shelby Farms Park before leading police on a multi-county high-speed chase.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Brian Kelley said that the arrest of Jackson Hopper, 26, is being investigated by internal affairs. Cell phone video allegedly captured Hopper’s arrest after authorities claim he drove the wrong way in traffic and attempted to run over a sergeant.
“Based on the arrest footage, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with other participating agencies, is conducting an internal affairs investigation into any allegations of officer misconduct by reviewing body-worn and vehicle-mounted cameras, written reports, witness statements, and any other resource available,” Kelley said…
