Santa Rosa City Council to Discuss Cutting $29-Million From the Budget

The Santa Rosa City Council is expected to discuss budget cuts at today’s meeting. The city is hoping to slash as much as 29-million-dollars off its budget by next year. Areas being considered for cuts include vacant positions, outside contracts, maintenance and fleet costs and other expenses. Positions that may be on the chopping block include four vacant firefighting jobs, a field and evidence technician in the police department, a recreation coordinator and recreation supervisor, and up to 13 positions in Transportation and Public Works.
