Walmart makes massive change to its delivery service – and it’s coming to your state soon

Walmart has unveiled plans to expand its delivery services to include prescription medications.

The service is currently accessible in Arkansas, Missouri, New York, Nevada, South Carolina, and Wisconsin, with ambitions to roll out to 49 states by the end of January 2025 .

The retail giant’s extensive store network, which boasts nearly 4,600 locations with pharmacies , enables the company to serve over 86 per cent of US households, meeting customer needs via its app and website.

The service is tailored to benefit a broad spectrum of customers, especially those with hectic schedules, families, seniors, and individuals managing chronic conditions who may find making multiple trips to the store challenging .

More than half of those who responded to Walmart’s internal customer surve y expressed a preference for having their prescriptions delivered with their other online purchases, making it the most sought-after service among time-sensitive consumers. Kevin Host, senior vice president of Pharmacy at Walmart US highlighted the company’s unique ability to influence communities through its vast network and pharmacy expertise . This service will enable Walmart to give more time back to its pharmacies for high-touch health services while still effectively serving customers.
