On October 11, 2024, at around 10:45 PM, an officer initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the area of Gum Avenue and Sixth Street. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Randy Marquez from Woodland, was evaluated during the encounter and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
During the stop, a 17-year-old male juvenile was present as a passenger in the vehicle. The officer observed a firearm in the juvenile’s possession. When the officer attempted to take the juvenile into custody, he fled the scene, leading to a brief foot pursuit. The officer successfully apprehended the juvenile shortly thereafter…
