New Yorkers can expect more open polling sites for first day of early voting

Early voting begins this Saturday across New York state. What can you expect when you go to the polls?

Right out of the gate, the prediction from some election officials is that there could be some lines and crowds when the polls open Saturday at 9 a.m.

“I do expect with all of the attention and all of the interest and excitement around, the presidential election, that at least on the first day, I do anticipate that we will have lines,” said Monroe County Board of Elections Commissioner Jackie Ortiz. “We have tried to anticipate some of that and increase the number of early voting sites,” Ortiz said…
