Red-light cameras added in Congress Heights, Washington Highlands, Logan Circle

WASHINGTON — Cameras added at three D.C. intersections on Tuesday will fine drivers who run red-lights. The cameras were placed near red-lights in Congress Heights, Washington Heights and Logan Circle.

Starting Tuesday, the penalty for running these red lights will begin as a warning citation sent to drivers by mail. This “educational phase,” will end on Nov. 22 after 30 days, according to the D.C. Department of Transportation (DDOT). Afterwards, drivers can expect a $150 fine for running these red lights.
