BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A local police union president joined escalating calls for Secretary Vincent Schiraldi’s removal after a podcast interview surfaced where the state’s juvenile chief advocated for accelerating justice reforms and reducing supervision of criminals.
Maryland Department of Juvenile Services whistleblowers sent FOX45 News a video link circling inside the agency. The video is from last October, featuring their boss, Schiraldi, on a little-known podcast called Decarceration Nation, where he promoted his newly released book.
Podcast host Joshua Hoe, who is a registered child sex offender, asked Schiraldi at the beginning of the interview if he faced pushback from the police when he was trying to enact controversial justice reforms…
