Rome, Ga. – The Southern Virginia University men’s golf team wrapped up their fall season with a strong showing at the Chick-fil-A Invitational at Stonebridge Golf Club, finishing fourth overall after an impressive +6 round on day two.
Leading the way for the Knights was Dax Anderson, who finished as the tournament medalist. Anderson shot an incredible 67 (-5) in the opening round, followed by an even-par round on day two. His performance, featuring 8 birdies over the two days, tied the program’s 36-hole record set by Nathan Preslar. Anderson’s victory atop the 128-player field marks a standout achievement for Southern Virginia.
Head Coach Blair Garner praised Anderson’s performance, saying, “Dax played great, matching his best score with 5-under and 8 birdies. It was a great way to finish the fall season.”
The Knights showed significant improvement on day two, climbing the leaderboard thanks to standout performances from both Anderson and his teammates. Nikko Taggart had a remarkable second day, shooting even par to leap 40 spots on the leaderboard and finish tied for 26th.
