Austinites mourn loss of another longtime business staple Baby Acapulco

A longtime Tex-Mex restaurant has reportedly closed one of its beloved Central Texas eateries. Baby Acapulco, or Baby A’s, known for its signature purple margaritas, appears to have abruptly shuttered its Barton Springs restaurant in Austin.

The restaurant’s flagship address, listed at 1628 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704, came up as “permanently closed” on Google Maps as of Tuesday, October 22. Social media users were quick to notice the change the same day with many Austinites sharing screen shots of the news mourning another loss.

Baby A’s has been open in Austin since 1981 and has since opened two other restaurants around the city. The restaurant reportedly posted a closure sign on its front door directing people to visit its Riverside Drive or Stonelake Boulevard spots, both of which are still listed as open on Google Maps…
