Lockport Township Fire Protection District Responds To Townhome Fire In Crest Hill

On Tuesday, October 22nd, at approximately 1650 hours the Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to a fire alarm in the 1400 Block of Root St. in the City of Crest Hill. Fire companies arrived on scene to find smoke showing with a reported fire on the second floor of a single-family townhome unit.

The crews on scene were able to get the fire under control in a short amount of time. Occupants were home at the time of the incident and were uninjured. Utilities to the home were disconnected. There was damage to the home, which left the home uninhabitable.

The fire was upgraded to a general alarm which brought in mutual aid assistance from Homer, Northwest Homer, and Plainfield to cover the Lockport stations…
