Man who shot Shaker Heights gas station employee to be sentenced

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) – A 31-year-old East Cleveland man convicted of shooting a BP/711 gas station employee was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in prison.

In September, William McLendon pleaded guilty to felonious assault for the shooting at the gas station in the 20400 block of Chagrin Blvd. in Shaker Heights around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 20.

Shaker Heights police said the 34-year-old employee was arguing with McLendon, who was a customer, when McClendon pulled out a gun and shot him.
