Wildcats Play Georgetown to 3-3 Draw

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova earned a 3-3 draw in a BIG EAST Conference match played on a warm and sunny late fall afternoon at the Higgins Soccer Complex. The Wildcats held a 3-2 edge after a Vincent Petrera in the 76th minute but the Hoyas got the equalizer from Jack Heaps in the 85th minute.

“At this point of the year you start to get a timeline on how much more of the season you have,” stated Villanova head coach Mark Fetrow. “We knew coming in here that, more likely than not, we needed three points today. That was the driving force, what we focused on all week.

“I was happy with how the guys battled and how they competed. It was good to get out of that first half with a 1-0 lead having not given up a goal. That was a change from what we had been doing, which was conceding goals early. But then in the second half we just didn’t have enough to make sure we kept the clean sheet.”…
