Fort Bend prosecutors strike deal to drop charges against Kendleton mayor

The district attorney’s office agreed to dismiss the case if the mayor pays $5,000 in restitution and resigns by Jan. 1, 2025.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office has agreed to drop the criminal charges against the Kendleton mayor if he resigns by Jan. 1, returns all city property and pays restitution.

Kendleton is a freedman’s town of about 350 people, located roughly 45 miles outside of Houston.
