The Disney Treasure has reached a major milestone on its journey toward its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024. This journey began when construction started on the ship in January 2023. Now, it has officially joined the Disney Cruise Line during the delivery ceremony in Eemshaven, Netherlands. The ceremony included dedicated team members, shipyard workers, and the Meyer Werft Team. Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse were also on hand.
The delivery ceremony is a time-honored maritime tradition that marks the transfer of ownership between a shipyard and the customer. In this case, that shipyard is Meyer Werft and the customer is the Disney Cruise line.
With the delivery ceremony, the ship will now be heading for its new home port in Port Canaveral, Florida. There, it will take its maiden voyage on December 21st. This first cruise will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. This will be followed by the inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
