Brightening Skies & A Bit Cooler Today

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – A cold front will push to our east early this morning. We’ll start the day with lingering clouds and possibly an isolated shower but otherwise expect brightening skies as the morning progresses with a mix of sun and clouds expected for the afternoon. North/northwest winds behind the front will usher some cooler air into the region with high temperatures expected to be a few degrees cooler than yesterday for most spots but still feel good… running near or a bit above average for this time of year, Temperatures will top off in the 50s north and upper 50s to low 60s elsewhere. Skies will clear out tonight as high pressure builds in. It’ll be colder tonight too with lows in the mid-30s to near 40°.

High pressure will bring us a gorgeous… fall day Friday with sunshine and highs in the 50s. Another cold front will move into the region Saturday bringing us some cloudiness and the chance for a few scattered showers. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies Saturday with a chance for a few scattered showers mainly over the northern half of the state. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 40s to mid-50s. Much cooler air will move in behind the front for Sunday. We’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies Sunday with highs only reaching the upper 30s to mid-40s. It’s going to feel colder though with a gusty north/northwesterly wind… gusting to 25-30 MPH at times. High pressure will give us a sunny and cool start to the week on Monday with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s.
