JONESBORO, Ark. — Mayor Harold Copenhaver and other city officials continue working toward demolition of the building located at 100 Washington Avenue, known as the Citizens Bank Building.
Following a building demolition specialist survey, city officials say the likely method of removal will be excavation rather than implosion. It appears that asbestos remains in various parts of the structure, resulting in a likely scenario of what is called a wet demolition that addresses dust concerns.
The current timeline is to have initial price estimates on demolition early next week…
