Popular and innovative Colorado wine company set to close its doors after 16 years

Nowadays, it’s not hard to find canned wine, but years ago when Infinite Monkey Theorem started to offer up their product in this more portable and eco-friendly form, competition was slim. Since then, it’s likely that many Coloradans have encountered their many canned varieties (and don’t forget – they produce bottles, too) at liquor stores and wine festivals around the state.

With roots dating back to 2008, Infinite Monkey Theorem has become a staple in the Colorado wine world over the decade-plus that followed. The slogan of the women-owned-and-operated company is “No Vineyard, No Pretense,” and it’s fitting, as the company utilizes grapes produced from vineyards around Colorado for their products, opposed to growing their own. This has allowed the company to focus not only on their final product, but also on providing a great wine-tasting experience at their highly-rated Larimer Street taproom in Denver.

Fans of Infinite Monkey Theorem will be saddened to hear that by the end of 2024, the company will be ceasing wine-making operations and closing the doors of the taproom, per a report from Denver’s Westword . Rising costs of production and decreasing sales of wine industry-wide were cited as two reasons that the difficult decision was made, though owners are open to finding a potential buyer of the brand…
