Volleyball Secures Road Sweep of Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Wofford volleyball team opened the second half of conference play with authority Thursday night, toppling Chattanooga in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-20) inside Maclellan Gym. Wofford improves to 15-6 (7-2 SoCon) with the triumph as the Mocs drop to 12-10 (3-5 SoCon).

The sweep is the 11th of the season for Wofford, matching the total of each of the last two seasons. The Terriers are now two shy of their Division I record of 13 straight-setters still with seven regular-season contests to play.

Wofford controlled the match in every facet, most notably on offense and at the service line. Wofford’s eight aces doubled up the four of Chattanooga. The Terriers posted 51 kills to the 30 of the Mocs with an assist advantage of 49-29. Wofford also topped the Mocs in digs (57-41) and blocks (5-2). The Terriers hit at a .358 rate tonight with only 12 errors in 109 attempts with the Mocs hitting at a .160 clip with 13 errors…
