COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – We see a chance of showers for this weekend, just a 20% shot especially for Saturday night into Sunday morning as a major cold front moves through South Carolina.

Tonight will be a bit cooler with lows in the upper 40s. Skies are clear with a high pressure system to our north. It‘s bringing drier air into the Midlands and that’s why our temps are dropping.
Friday we have low 80s for highs and plenty of sunshine. The high pressure system sits over the region, just to our east and keeps the rain at bay.
Saturday morning is down to 48, but it warms up a little more. A cold front presses to the south and will cause some compressional heating before it makes its way through the Midlands. The temps will climb to the mid 80s and skies are mostly sunny.
The models are hinting at some shower activity Saturday evening. Expect a 20% chance of rain during the overnight and lows will be in the upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies.
Temps are much cooler Sunday as the front passes. Highs are in the low 70s with mostly cloudy skies. There’s a 20% chance of showers, it really looks like the best chance of rain will be in the early morning.
Monday morning with be in the low 50s and highs reach the low 70s for the afternoon. Skies are mostly sunny. We see a gradual warming trend as we head through the rest of the week with Halloween in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies.
We’re on day 27 without rain! The drought monitor came out today and portions of the eastern Midlands now under a moderate drought.
