Since 2011, there have been over 100 different contestants from all over Texas to try out on The Voice throughout the show’s history. (Some have appeared from El Paso). But how many singers have won? So far there have been 3 winners from the Lone Star State as of July 2024.

Danielle Bradbery

The first singer to win from Texas is Season 4’s winner, Danielle Bradbery from Cypress, TX in 2013. Danielle was only 16 during her Blind Auditions when she performed Taylor Swift’s “Mean“. Danielle is still making music; she’s released 2 albums & many singles.

Sundance Head

The next Texas winner came from 2016’s Season 11; 37 year old Jason “Sundance” Head from Porter, TX. He joined team Shelton by winning him over with his performance of “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” by Otis Redding.

Sundance Head won the competition with his original song, “Darlin’ Don’t Go”. You can still catch Sundance performing all over his home state of Texas.

Maelyn Jarmon
