District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos announced on Friday morning that shoppers in Burtonsville intervened to detain a suspect who attempted to rob a Giant Foods pharmacy, holding him until police arrived, leading to his arrest and being charged with felony robbery.

3rd District officers responded to the Giant Foods in Burtonsville. The suspect jumped the pharmacy counter, pushed the clerk against the wall, and demanded prescription drugs. Multiple community members intervened and held the suspect down until officers arrived. Officers took the repeat felon into custody and he was charged with robbery (felony). Looks like he is held without bond as of this morning which is appropriate.”…
