The Legacy at Town Square celebrates veteran residence during quilt ceremony

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Legacy at Town Square, a senior living community, partnered with Panhandle Quilts of Honor to celebrate its resident veterans during a recent ceremony on Oct. 16.

According to officials, six veterans from The Legacy at Town Square and the overall community were presented with hand-crafted quilts. The quilts, provided by Panhandle Quilts of Honor, are a tribute to the men and women who have served, with each stitch carrying a message of appreciation for their courage and sacrifice.

“This ceremony gave us a chance to honor the incredible contributions of our veterans, who have given so much for our country,” said Diane Maiwald, Executive Director of The Legacy at Town Square. “Being able to partner with Panhandle Quilts of Honor and express our gratitude in such a personal way was truly special.”

Officials noted that veterans received quilts and were surrounded by loved ones, staff, and community members. After the ceremony, light refreshments were provided, and time was given to engage in conversation with the veterans…
