Per the Westminster Police Department, an investigation into an attempted child abduction is underway, and the details of the encounter are disturbing.
The incident took place on Friday morning in the area of West 125 Avenue and Delaware Street. According to police, a female student was walking alone to school just after 7 a.m. when a vehicle she described as being silver approached her. The male driver of the vehicle then reportedly threatened the child with a gun and told her to get into his vehicle.
When the girl refused, the man reportedly grabbed her backpack before speeding away in the vehicle. The girl ultimately made it to her school safely…
