FRESNO, Calif. – The Chico State men’s cross country team continues to fill up head coach Gary Towne’s office with trophies as the Wildcats coasted to their unprecedented 22nd straight CCAA Championship at Woodward Park on Friday morning.
In addition to that 22nd consecutive title, Chico State also saw two other impressive runs. Running in an 8K format, the Wildcats combined for 18 points for the second straight year, missing the record of 15 set by the 2013 championship team.
Mario Giannini ran a time of 24:06.1 to capture the Wildcats’ 16th individual medalist honor in the last 16 years and the 18th overall since Chico State joined the conference…
