‘She touched so many people”: Norwich mourns 7-year-old victim of house fire with vigil

The community gathered at the Rose City Senior Center in Norwich Friday evening to celebrate the life of Rylee Boldizar with a candlelight vigil.

Rylee, 7, died in a fire at her home on 83 Summit St. in Norwich on Oct. 15 . In addition to Rylee, there were two adults who lived in the house as well as a 12-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy.

“In unity, we find strength, comfort, and the beginnings of healing,” said Susan Lessard, acting superintendent of Norwich Public Schools. Rylee was a student at John B. Stanton Elementary School. “Let us hold on to one another and cherish the beautiful memories we have of sweet Rylee.”…
