Verbosky, Lewis capture CCAA titles

BEMUS POINT — Merely formalities at this point in the season, Ethan Verbosky and Emma Lewis were crowned Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association individual champions Friday afternoon at Bemus Point Golf Course.

Verbosky, a Maple Grove senior, won the boys race in 15:54.98 and Lewis, a Southwestern sophomore, won the girls race in 18:43.36.

Frewsburg’s Cody Kent was second in the boys race with a time of 16:33.04, followed by Jamestown’s Clevon Wofford (16:39.48), West Valley’s Jack Tharnish (16:40.97), Jamestown’s Wyatt Olmstead (16:45.55), Gowanda’s Chase Bolen (16:46.66), Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Grant Cornell (16:58.20), Jamestown’s Finn Caswell (17:00.21), West Valley’s Noah Klahn (17:04.39) and Fredonia/Westfield’s Trenton Krenzer (17:09.78)…
