Local judge honored after advocating for domestic violence survivors

JACKSON, Tenn. — In the past decade, Tennessee has ranked top 10 in women killed by their domestic partners. One local leader is helping to combat those statistics in our communities.

Judge Blake Anderson was awarded a certificate of appreciation Friday. Anderson has served as an honorable judge for Jackson for more than 25 years.

He was awarded this certificate because he advocates for survivors and victims of domestic violence by holding perpetrators accountable with intervention programs. These programs have helped change the way offenders think and behave.

Judge Anderson has held more than 5,000 offenders accountable by utilizing evidence based programs geared to change some of the behaviors that batterers use against survivors.
