BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) – The driving force of Belvidere North‘s football program is junior linebacker and running back Erick Roman. In Roman‘s sophomore year he established a presence like no other, becoming the Blue Thunder’s first sophomore to receive All-Conference honors and even securing academic All-State honors with a 4.0 GPA.
“He’s just, you know, he’s a big part of our offense, he’s a big part of our defense,” says Belvidere North head coach Jeff Beck. “He’s on every special team, so he’s just a game changer in pretty much every phase of the game.”
Roman still has his entire senior season ahead of him and has proven to be the glue that sticks Belvidere North together. His leadership can be credited to his long football journey, beginning to play football in first grade. Alongside his leadership to the team is his grit, hustling to the ball on every play…
